While not reflecting the vast majority of members, some business owners and managers do exhibit one or more of the following behaviours occasionally. As a result, they reduce the benefit that barter has for their business. Too many businesses displaying these behaviours in the system can also create a negative impression of the exchange, as well as discourage the staff at the exchange.
Tradebank Canada met with Franchise owners across the country in early 2017 to discuss the growth of Canada's barter system. The theme of this year's kick-off event was "Work Hard, Rock On", and was held at the gorgeous Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Punta Cana.
Over the past 5 years, Tradebank has experienced tremendous growth. We have launched a number of new cities including Regina, Saskatoon, Edmonton & Moose Jaw in the west along with Ottawa, London, York, Barrie & Brantford in the east. Manitoba has remained untouched, that is until now!
I have heard a number of times from business owners who are just launching or within their first year of business that “their business is not ready for barter yet”. I can’t imagine a less accurate statement.
